The Dove prism is an image-rotating prism whose operation relies on a single total internal reflection. When the prism itself is rotated along its longitudinal axis, the image observed through it rotates at twice the angular speed of the physical rotation. This represents a highly unique and useful optical property.
Unique image rotation capability.
High requirement for input light collimation.
Installation sensitivity.
