Red Optical Glass

Red optical colored glass is a type of optical filter material that exhibits high transmittance in the red and near-infrared regions of the visible spectrum while demonstrating strong absorption/cutoff characteristics in the green, blue, and ultraviolet bands. It is a long-wave-pass filter glass used in optical systems to extract the red-to-near-infrared band while suppressing shorter-wavelength stray light.

  • High transmittance in the red and near-infrared region

  • Deep cutoff in shorter wavelengths

  • Peak transmittance has a practical upper limit
