A PM fiber collimator uses a GRIN or C-lens to collimate or couple light. It can work singly or in pairs with filters/isolators in between. In coherence-based interferometric sensors, it maintains polarization stability, boosting SNR for high-precision measurements.
Outputs fixed, known linear polarization
The polarization direction of the input light must be aligned with the slow axis or fast axis of the PM fiber
PM fiber is highly sensitive to bending and twisting
