A wedge window is a flat optical window whose two optical surfaces are not parallel, featuring a slight included angle (wedge angle). By introducing this wedge angle, unwanted reflected light can be deviated from the main optical path, thereby being blocked by apertures or scattered away, preventing it from returning to sensitive optical components.
