Ensuring Excellence: Quality Control for Rays Optics

01
Retardation Accuracy Verification

We utilize spectroscopic ellipsometers to measure the actual phase retardation against the specified value (e.g., λ/4, λ/2), ensuring it falls within the stringent tolerance range of < λ/300 at the target wavelength for optimal performance.

02
Wavefront Distortion Measurement

Using laser interferometers, we quantify the wavefront distortion introduced by the wave plate, maintaining it below λ/10 to preserve the quality and focusability of your laser beam.

03
Extinction Ratio & Polarization Purity Test

For input linear polarization, we measure the extinction ratio of the output beam, confirming high values (>1000:1 for precision plates) to guarantee exceptional polarization control and minimal contamination.

04
Reflectance & AR Coating Performance

We test the reflectance at the design wavelength using spectrophotometers, ensuring our broadband or single-layer AR coatings achieve average reflectance below 0.25% per surface for maximum transmission.

05
Parallelism and Perpendicularity Inspection

The parallelism of the two surfaces of the waveplate is measured with an autocollimator to be ≤ 30 arcseconds, and the perpendicularity between the light-transmitting surface and the mounting surface is ≤ 15 arcseconds, preventing optical path deviation or aberration.

06
Laser-Induced Damage Threshold (LIDT) Certification

Critical for high-power applications, we test or certify our wave plates to withstand specified power/energy densities, using materials and processes optimized for minimal absorption and high durability.
