Nd:YAG is the most widely used, most technologically mature, and highly versatile solid-state laser crystal, widely recognized as the "industry standard" for solid-state lasers. By doping neodymium ions (Nd³⁺) into the YAG crystal as the laser gain medium, it generates near-infrared laser radiation at 1064 nm. Through frequency doubling, it can also produce green light (532 nm) and ultraviolet wavelengths (355 nm, 266 nm).
High efficiency, low loss
Excellent thermal dissipation, suitable for high-power operation
Good mechanical properties, easy to process
