YAG crystal (Yttrium Aluminum Garnet) is a high-performance laser host crystal and one of the most widely used solid-state laser materials. It does not generate laser light by itself but serves as a host material. By doping with different rare-earth ions as the laser gain medium, it enables laser output at various wavelengths. YAG crystal is also widely regarded as the “universal substrate” for solid-state lasers.
