Zinc Sulfide (ZnS)

Zinc sulfide (ZnS) is a well-balanced infrared optical material, offering a strong trade-off among hardness, transmittance, and environmental stability. It is one of the preferred materials for infrared windows and domes, particularly in applications requiring impact resistance and good scratch resistance. Compared with ZnSe, ZnS is noticeably harder and more durable.

  • Broad transmission range

  • Multispectral capability

  • Good scratch resistance
